Ministers back Liberation Day holiday plan

The cabinet has agreed to do its utmost to make sure as many workers as possible have a day off on Liberation Day, prime minister Mark Rutte told MPs on Wednesday. Social affairs minister Wouter Koolmees will kick off the talks by approaching employers and unions about the option of having an extra day of paid holiday on May 5, Rutte said. Oysters make comeback in North Sea

Efforts to reseed North Sea oyster banks near the Wadden island of Schiermonnikoog have produced at least four baby oysters, project organisers World Wide Fund for Nature and nature development organisation ARK said at the weekend. Assen death: sex crime was likely

Haarlemermeer closes its massage parlours

All six massage salons in the local authority area of Haarlemmermeer have been closed down after they were found to be offering clients sex, the council said on its website. One of the massage parlours may also have been involved in human trafficking and the police have been called in, the website said.
